Santa Monica High School Choral Music presents its
Winter Choral Concert, Motus Perpetuus XIX


On Friday, December 13, at 7:00 p.m., the Santa Monica High School Choral Music department will present the 19th annual "Motus Perpetuus," a beautiful and truly unique Winter Choral Concert of Perpetual Motion featuring all of our choirs. During this concert, students move throughout Barnum Hall as they perform, and applause is held until after the very last piece, so the music's motion can flow and continue without interruption. The result is a stunning concert experience!

Choir alums are invited to the stage to sing the Hallelujah Chorus and Samohi Hymn of Praise.

Doors will open for seating at 6:30pm, and the concert will begin promptly at 7:00pm.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students & seniors 65+.

This winter concert often sells out, so don't wait - purchase tickets online in advance. Spread the word and invite your friends!

Samohi Serenade is Samohi Choir's first concert of the year, and our biggest fundraising event! 

Our fall pop concert, Samohi Serenade is a new, reimagined version of our annual choir kick-off event! Featuring contemporary music, this concert features each of our student choral ensembles, plus featured solos and small collaborations by our talented students.

Doors open at 6:30pm for seating, the concert begins at 7:00pm, and there will be a 15 minute intermission.

CONCERT SEATING:

Premium Reserved Seating (plus VIP reception) = $45 / ticket

Side Reserved Seating = $30/ ticket

General Admission Seating (unreserved) = $20 / ticket
Students & seniors 65+ (unreserved) = $15 / ticket

  

Premium Reserved Seat ticket includes a reserved center section seat in Barnum Hall, plus an invitation to a special pre-concert reception with hors d'oeuvres, mocktails and desserts, beginning at 5:30pm.

The plaza outside Barnum Hall will be open to all ticket holders begining at 6:00pm to enjoy concessions and coffee, visit our raffle tables and check out our auction preview. Samohi Choir Spirit Wear will be available for sale, and choir families can mingle until the concert begins.

Please read below. Items that need to be filled out and submitted are due 9/3.

The steering committee sends out communications on behalf of Mr. Huls and the Samohi Choral Music program. Fill out this form every year that your student is in choir, and stay subscribed to the monthly emails.

If you will be wearing a dress, complete the choir dress form.

If you will be wearing a Baxter suit, complete the Baxter suit form.

If you will be wearing a suit or tuxedo, complete the tuxedo form.

    • REQUIRED - Read to learn about our upcoming first concert & exciting auction - Our online auction fundraiser will open September 23 and the Fall Concert is October 5!
      >> Know a business that would like to donate to the auction? Share the auction donation form and letter. Two (2) solicitations per family will help us meet our goal!

  • OPTIONAL -  Order Spirit Wear  (hoodies, pjs, t-shirts)  -- most students wear their choir t-shirt at pep rallies and informal performances.

  • OPTIONAL - If you or someone you know owns a business and may be interested in sponsoring Choir or purchasing ad space, please check our our sponsor form.

  • OPTIONAL - Honor Choir is a special opportunity and students are encouraged to participate each year. More information at scva.org and samohichoir.org.  Application deadline is September 6.
