Honor choirs are an amazing opportunity for choir students to perform at a high level with other outstanding choir students from around the state and country under the direction of nationally and internationally known choral conductors.
Students audition, are accepted, receive their music in advance, generally attend a regional rehearsal and then have a final rehearsal and concert. Students who are accepted must commit to learn their music in advance and to attend all rehearsals and concerts.
This is not required for Samohi Choir students, but a special opportunity that students are encouraged to participate in and take advantage of.
Links are provided below for more information. Note that the SCVA site does not always post a lot of information until closer to the date of auditions. Please contact Mr. Huls or the steering committee if you have any questions.
For all honor choirs, check your availability before applying. If a singer is selected and then does not participate, the entire school may be suspended from participating the following year.
