Supporting a rigorous and inclusive music program takes leadership, innovation, and collaborative partnerships within our community. 

Students enrolled in Santa Monica High School are not required to pay any fee, deposit, or other charge for participation in an educational activity offered by the school or the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, except as authorized by law. Donations are sought and accepted for various activities and supplies, and are at times critical to the continued success of classes and activities, but donations are voluntary.

Samohi choirs are among the most accomplished in the country and have performed in cities around the world. The generous support of our donors is critical to the experience of our choir students at Samohi, both now and in the future. Just like other Samohi instrumental music or athletic programs, we depend on parent support to help us achieve our goals for the current year and provide security for the future of our program.

While the District pays for the salaries of our Vocal Music Director and our accompanist, many other program expenses — such as technology and computers for SmartMusic, practice room pianos, supplemental sheet music, festival entry fees and transportation, vocal coaches, supplies, tour chaperone travel, tour scholarships, and countless other choral music expenses — must be covered by the fundraising efforts of our choral steering committee. Every choir student benefits from Annual Giving donations.

Our wonderful concerts give all of us an opportunity to celebrate and share the gift of music by engaging new supporters, building awareness of both the excellent Santa Monica High School Choral Program, and the importance of arts in education. Sponsors will be publicized as community arts supporters and will help Samohi continue to offer a first-class music education and cover many necessary program expenses including sheet music, supplies, festival fees, transportation expenses, vocal coaching and tour scholarships so that ALL students can create art and achieve!

Online Auction

Santa Monica High School’s Annual ONLINE AUCTION takes place annually in October. The online auction, typically held in conjunction with our Sweet Serenade Concert, is Samohi CHoir's biggest fundraiser, and provides critical funds for the choir program. Families are encouraged to help by asking local businesses to make a tax-deductible conationof good or services we can include in our auction, by sharing our online auction link with friends and family and encouraging them to bid, and by bidding on the array of items included in the auction. Every bid helps support our fundraising goals.  

Sweet Serenade Concert & Raffle

Santa Monica High School’s Annual Sweet Serenade Concert is the first concert of the year; it is a chance for choir families and their friends to meet and welcome our newest chori families, and includes an on-site raffle, delicious food, and contemporary performances by our remarkable choir students and their ensembles.
